Hey. I am turning to you for help. I have a redmi watch 5 active and I would like to connect it to the gadgetbridge app, but unfortunately I can’t. The original app for this watch is mi fitness. Has anyone tried pairing it with the gadgetbridge app? If so, could he tell me how to do it, or is there any universal authorization code?
Just checked on gadgetbridge site. Looks like that watch has unknown support. Even the dev has stated it might work but they dont know which features is supported.
You can head on gadgetbridge site and follow the step to acquire the authentication key.
I also checked and tried the method provided on the website, but I couldn’t pair the device.
Which part did you stuck on? Did you get the authentication key?
I’m not able to get the authorization key, but it could be because my phone isn’t rooted.
Even if youre not rooted. You can still get the key from the log files.
I know, but the key is null in the file, that’s why I can’t get it
That’s why you should make your first post more clear. Which steps youre failing. Easier for people to pinpoint what’s the problem.
Anyway, xiaomi probably changed the key location. Or you can try downgrading the xiaomi app fron apkmirror. Best bet is make a post at codeberg.
Thank you for the advice
I had success with one old model of Xiaomi band and not with another. There are all kinds of hacks and workarounds with modified versions of the Mi Fitness app to get it working on some models and it may or may not work for you.
Start here and hopefully you can get it working.
I used this link and unfortunately I was unable to pair the device.
Sorry to hear. It is a bit of an issue trying to work with these proprietary, closed systems. Sometimes it works and other times it just doesn’t.
Tried stuff like 0000?
Yes
