I’m trying to stop using Reddit, but it having an app I know about makes it have quite an advantage.
I know there’s a few apps out there I can use to browse Lemmy, but I’m not sure about their names and the different features they offer.

Unfortunately it is currently broken with lemmy.world. For those of us that are already signed in it seems to work ok, but new users will need to use something else at the moment. Connect for Lemmy is a good alternative on Android.
Ah that I did not know bout, it did take me a while to get it working with the app, alot of stubbornness to work with world. Jerboa overall does have its moments of lag and would like to replace :c Will check out connect if it does not lag as much as Jerboa. Always good to have sources of other apps then one and only app.
Connect looks pretty slick, but I’m actually pretty happy with Jerboa and will probably stick with it. I was helping someone get setup on Lemmy last night though and ran into the server error for the first time. I ended up setting her up with Connect and was impressed with how polished it looks, but honestly the simple layout and interface of Jerboa is just fine for me. I definitely agree about the value of having a variety of options, and expect there will be more to come soon!
This is because Lemmy.world hasn’t updated to 0.18 yet. The admin said captcha doesn’t work on 0.18.0 so he’s waiting till 0.18.1.
I just signed up with another instance. Is there a particular reason everyone wants to use lemmy.world? I went with sh.itjust.works… will I run into any issues?
I initially chose it because (I think) it didn’t require me to wait to get approved. Or I just forgot about that again. Another reason was because of the post lemmy.ml asking people to join elsewhere because there were so many new people it got difficult for their server to handle and lemmy.world was the next I saw.
I did make multiple accounts (on different instances) though to have a sort of backup just in case something happens, as unlikely as that may seem.
I haven’t heard of any incompatibility issues with shitjustworks specifically, but I really don’t know. I chose Lemmy.world to be on the fastest growing server with the most activity, but really if it’s a federated server it shouldn’t matter too much.
There is also a fork: https://lemmy.ml/post/1498929
