Very important topic that is sadly neglected by communists when we get too narrowly focused on the more material aspects of class struggle.

We say: culture is class struggle, and socialist realism is a weapon in that struggle. It is not a relic. It is not a style for galleries. It is a living, breathing method for building working-class consciousness and unity across borders. It was forged in revolution and continues to inspire anti-imperialist movements worldwide.

Yes! It’s way past time someone finally said this! Socialist realism was revolutionary and is revolutionary. It has never ceased to be relevant.

I enjoyed reading this. Learning and trying to understand marxism for me comes with a huge problem as most people blatantly use red scare on the daily. It regularly produces huge fights because “leftists” will bash anything socialist without thinking twice. It makes me sick.
