I was at the anti-NATO demonstration in the Hague today. We were with 5000 people and we made a stand, although I wished we were with more. It was pretty international, with the Belgian PvdA and the Turkish TKP participating as well. There was a lot of police for such a small demonstration and they were clearly trying to intimidate us. During the march there were three arrest buses following us which were later joined by police on horseback. On every side street there were always a dozen police officers and a couple of police vans.

Edit: I forget there was also a police van with cameras on top filming everyone the whole time

There were also some pro-ayatollah Iranians present, like not just critical support but full support for the government. The women were all wearing chadors. I heard rumors they were embassy staff, or paid by the embassy, which I don’t necessarily believe. There were times where anti-regime Iranians in the march were clashing with the pro-regime Iranians.

I saw we were there with 350 people.

Saw some people get mad at a banner depicting I think a Hamas soldier but I’m not sure. Optics wise you can have an opinion on that, I guess.

Anyway I hope the protests continue the next few days.
