He’s the anti-keemstar, a highly talented, extremely chill guy who seems pretty humble, considering he’s gotta be in the top 3 of best drummers out there.

He’s skilled for sure, but he does use drum triggers that’s why his playing sounds so crisp and clean. If you watch his live playing filmed by amateur cameras and outside his studio, he sounds more “normal”. Not saying it’s bad though, the dude is still very talented.

From a cursory search, he only uses triggers on the kick drum. This is the norm in metal, and it’s by no means easier to play with triggers, as you still need to play in time. All it does is make every hit sound the same (if the drummer so chooses, a trigger can also trigger hits at different volumes, although it’s unusual). The rest of the drums are highly compressed and limited, which help achieve that crisp and clean sound you are describing.

Yes, and the trigger on the kick making all the hits uniform helps make it sound clean. I’m not knocking on his skills, the dude does have the talent to back it up.

There’s no tricks involved in being able to maintain a different beat with all four limbs though. That’s just natural talent and many years of practice.

Yes, like I said, his skill and technique are very good. The triggers and compression just make it sound super clean.

This shirt would’ve come in clutch some years back, but not sure I have the credentials to back this up anymore haha.
