Koei Tecmo's WILD HEARTS is out on February 17th for $69.99 on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC, and serves as a brand new hunting game in the vein of Monster Hu...
Damn, I didn’t even know about this game and it’s apparently coming out next month in February, right?
Looks like action-action-action-action-action-rpg no 1234141234123, just with a lot of wierd, convoluted and unnecessary mechanics (that stool killed me) obfuscating the fact that it is yet another button smasher.
I played MH (got bored after 2 hours), it’s still button masher, you just not necessarily need to mash it as fast as you can but in more precise moments, which make it better than your usual action game, but it’s still first and foremost action game.
Monster Hunter World i think. It’s not that i unconditionally hate every button smasher game, for example i like the Dynasty/Samurai/Pirate/whatever else Warriors series and some hack&slashes like PoE are also not bad (also Hades is excellent), but i was burn way too many times on “RPG” label being put on games that are not RPG in the slightest, just action adventure games.

Oh, yeah, and a nice graphic.
If it’s anything like its obvious inspiration, Monster Hunter, it definitely won’t be a button masher. At least I hope so :P

Out of curiousity, which one?
Also, if you want a non-button mashy Monster Hunter game, you should check out the older games (MH4U if you’ve been playing MHW/MHR).

Didn’t you know? If it has stats, character levels, character creation and some decision making - it automatically constitutes as RPG these days! /s
Ugh, if i get some actual RPG every time i heard that argument i would never even had to heard that argument in a first place.
Wait dammit it’s paradox?
