r/Jewish has to be one of the most toxic subcommunities that I’ve seen not yet banned from Reddit. I have never seen them say anything nice. I don’t have the link to prove it, but I could have sworn that I saw a user unjokingly say that ‘the world won’t stop being antisemitic!’
It is my duty as a Jew to call out bigotry + genocide wherever it exists.
They love to say Israel doesn’t represent them but then act as if their voice carries more weight because they’re Jewish.
I’m sorry, are you saying that Jews should not call out either bigotry or extermination campaigns wherever they exist?
Good grief.
You kids can’t cry ‘antisemitism’ at the drop of a hat and then throw a fit when somebody tries to counteract the phenomenon in question with some positive representation. What would you rather do, mope around all day?
this person must be furious about what’s happening in sudan and yemen then
I wonder how @onandrah1@hexbear.net or @CyaraKaira@hexbear.net would feel about Zionists referencing their difficulties simply to delegitimise pro-Palestinian protesters.
Hey, I really appreciate that folks see my struggle as a trans woman who fled Uganda and is now trying to survive in a refugee camp. That means a lot. But please, don’t use my name or story in political arguments I haven’t spoken on. My life is not a reference point…it’s real. It’s painful, it’s human, and it deserves care and respect. Thank you for understanding. With softness and strength.
Oh, sorry about that! I’ll avoid doing that again; I understand not wanting to get involved in other people’s battles. I can redact my mention of you if that would make you feel better.
You know, I sort of agree with the poster somewhat. He is accidentally nailing it on the head, because it is indeed correct that Jewish voices do not automatically carry more weight because they’re Jewish. As if we need Jewish validation to condemn something. Even If 100% of Jews supported the genocide, it still does not justify it.

Completely agree 👍🏼
Yeah the whole “not in my name” thing is ceding ground to the idea that israel is the nation of all Jewish people. It just goes to show how deeply embedded zionism is in Jewish communities and how hard it is to root out brain worms.
Well put.
The Jews in question feel the need to invoke their Jewishness when denouncing the genocide undertaken in their name because certain other Jews have been attempting to spot weld Jewishness with fealty to the Zionist colonial project for several decades. These same people use their own Jewishness as leverage for Zionism, crying over oppression and how it’s their turn to wear the boot which has never actually stamped on their own faces. The degree of hypocrisy is almost stunning.

“It is my duty as a German to stand up against Hitler–”
“Lol, silly commie, don’t you know that by saying ‘as a German,’ you’re claiming special authority on the subject because of your nationality, WHICH MAKES YOU JUST LIKE OUR GLORIOUS FUEHRER!”
