having reflected on this a bit, i’m currently thinking that the play they’re going with is to hit him with some genuinely absurd charges, see those charges get blasted in court, and then slander Garcia further to establish firmer grounds to use to attack the judiciary in general for “releasing a psychopath wifebeater that helped traffic thousands of migrants.” they’ll have this get tossed out and then use that to justify the truth of the charges.
