Spoilers, obvs.
I liked it, but didn’t love it. I fucking loved the battle episode with the dragons, although I watched most of it behind my hands. Rhaenys death was done brilliantly, as was Aemonds cruelty to his brother. Also loved the dragons choosing their riders.
Overall it was just enjoyable but slow and forgettable. What did you all think?

My biggest complaint is that it was two episodes short. If I recall correctly the show runners were told late into production that they would only have the budget for 8 episodes and not 10. Unfortunately around the same time the writers strike was happening.
So they wrote 10 episodes and they planned for 19 episodes, but they only got 8. As a result the season builds but has no payoff.
Without writers they had no way to try and adjust the season… So they just let it trickle off.
Once season 3 is out the story will even out and be fine, but we’re in the unfortunate in-between phase right now.
Huge fan of the books and I really liked it. Love seeing Matt Smith in anything.
Felt like they couldn’ve done a better job with the killing of the Aegon’s little baby, fo such a shocking a fucked up thing. Maybe if we’d spent more time with the kids and the mother it would’ve hit harder.
Yes, much the same here. Forgettable is, disappointingly, the key word.
I’ll carry on watching, but largely in hope that it improves rather than for actual enjoyment as it is.
How many times can you have one guy trip in dreams without moving the plot forward? According to season 2, as many times as you want!
I can just imagine the writers. “You know what we need here? More pretty but basically pointless dreams! Cos dreams are like, deep and stuff”
My issues with S2 is the plot barely moved and we’re basically back to square one where S1 ended. Sure they needed to set up some stuff, but you don’t need an entire season just for that. S1’s pacing was better.
It was a typical season 2 for a show where season 1 was well liked.
In other words, it is trash.
Watchable for effects and because we cared in the first season, but by the end we no longer care.
The Last of Us season 2 is similar- I just watched it and the producer should be ashamed. Season 1 was the best television in years: Season 2 is trash.
It’s been bad, but last week’s episode with flashbacks was gorgeous, it was s1 all over again.
I loved s1 TLOU its one of the greatest tv seasons ever made. I chose to not watch s2 because the 2nd game plot isn’t for me. Did you play the games at all?
