      Healthcare is quite distinctly a US problem. Canada has free healthcare. So do all EU countries as far as I know.

        Canada and EU countries are further from pure capitalism than the US is, too… don’t see a pattern that pure/extreme economic ideologies don’t work properly? A mix like socialism or social democracy seem to work pretty good.

          All economies are mixed, Capitalism is when Private Ownership is the principle aspect of the economy while Socialism is when Public Ownership is. Moderation isn’t necessarily better, either, private ownership works quite well in lower developed industries and non-key industries, while public ownership and planning works better in more developed industries and key industries.

          Social Democracy is firmly Capitalist, Private firms dominate the economy, and social safety nets are paid for from a section of the super-profits reaped from Imperialism.
