If I remember correctly, idubbz apologized for all the slurs and misogyny a few years back (ironically I think it was in an interview with H3). He realized he had been unintentionally courting a right-wing fanbase and grew up. He seemed genuine.
He also did a video on Sam Hyde, someone he had some kind of affinity for and I think the process of doing that, of experiencing Sam Hyde in person, and really made he introspective. I can’t remember if this was before or after what you mentioned. But I remember he finished that video and he clearly didn’t have a positive experience.
From what I remember, Idubbbz was trying to make a video against Sam Hyde. Sam Hyde somehow figured it out. Sam Hyde hired a bunch of actors to pretend to be Sam’s friends to troll Idubbbz. Idubbbz released the video against Sam Hyde and then Sam Hyde released a video showing that everyone in Idubbbz video were actors that Sam payed for.
