Pebble was a fantastic ewatch that had terrible build quality. That said, those were the only “smart” watches I would buy, unless there’s something akin to it.

I had never heard of BangleJS before and wow, that thing is awesome!

I’m neither a JS or Android/iOS developer, and this thing makes me want to try making a Fitbit-like fitness tracker and companion app.

I might seriously get one. I’ve been on a privacy/declouding kick lately and have somewhat missed my smart watch. This thing looks like great fun.

If it feels a little costly any, the PineTime’s also pretty good. Not remotely the same degree of plugin ecosystem due to being written in C but definitely serviceable and only $27.

(not advocating over the BangleJS – as I haven’t owned one and it does look more featureful – but mostly mentioning as I don’t see a lot of people mention it, either)

should be the same as pebble.

It also uses an always-on transflective lcd display similar to pebble 2.

after my pebble died, I have been exclusively buying smartwatches (amazfit etc) with these type of screen only.

          the display is slightly difference:

          features pebble time banglejs
          color 6 bit (64 color) 3 bit (8 color)
          resolution 144x168 176x176
input method 4 buttons touchscreen + 1 button
