News analysis: The Independent’s political editor David Maddox’s trip to Washington DC for Trump’s inauguration found that the UK/US special relationship has morphed into deep antipathy for the Starmer government from the new White House administration
that’s universal human trait, i’m afraid
Me, when talking to communists: Stalin made a lot of mistakes and we should avoid them in the future.
Me, when talking to liberals: the only mistake Stalin made was stopping at Berlin.
really? i constantly see shit unprompted from america thats all “USA NUMBER 1!!!” “best country on earth 🇺🇸🏈” “philly best city 🙌🙌🙌” “#texan pride” “east coast represent!” and so on, its pretty much a universal stereotype of usamericans. you never see that sort of shit in the UK. is it maybe a generational usamerican thing or it’s only in the media or something?
the only exception to this that i’ve seen is “can’t have shit in detroit”, which i’m lead to believe is mostly racism.
i meant reaction to criticism from perceived outsider, not overblown patriotism tbh.
