Just wanted to put it on your radar in case you didn’t know about the show (I only found out about it by accident). I think it’s available on Netflix.

The show was written by an enby and the cast includes a trans man and Suzy Eddie Izzard.

I recently finished the season. Felt solid, good story and character development, felt like it was faithful with an artistic interpretation to the Greek legends.

And, it’s a good show, with representation that isn’t surface level as a throwaway aspect of the characters.

I won’t go into details because spoilers, but Misia Butler’s character is not only central to the show, but refers back to one of the earliest myths that include transformation from one gender to another. Plus, the character being trans is central to the show. It’s amazing, as is his performance. The dude can act.

I could gush over Butler’s performance for a page worth of text lol. There’s some major names in the cast, and he stands out. I would go so far as to say it’s the best acting in the show, and Janet McTeer is in it, and she’s giving one of her better performances. Jeff Goldblum is also turning in a masterpiece, and I’d still say Butler is outacting him.

Enough gushing. It’s a phenomenal show lol

I pretty much agree. I tend to be a bit more critical and nit-picky about things, but on the whole I agree that for a queer show, this one is well done. Butler is definitely a presence on-screen, and a welcome one. I hope this show launches his career a bit.

I just need to finish the last episode, but it took me a minute to warm up to it, somewhere around half way it started to have my attention.
