Christian nationalism is the last gasp of the deaparate
Agreed. I just hope it goes out with a whimper and not a bang.
if our latest christofascist trends are any indication, it seems like it will be a bang
I like to think of it as the death throes of a dying “American Christianity.” The bible thumping, barely literate, “hands off my guns,” homophobic christian nationalism. I really REALLY hope it is at least.
Living in the cousin-fuckingly deep south, it’s still alive and well here.
Hopefully the rest of the the country is less fucked.
Please send help.

Like the video shows, the Christian Nationalists themselves are making this claim to feed their persecution complex.
I think people are missing this part:
and most Americans think that’s a bad thing.
Which means a religious revival could be just around the corner. That is the bad thing.
Yep. I am seeing a lot of people celebrating in these comments when I feel like the opposite should be happening (assuming everyone likely just read the title and did not watch the video).
Christian Nationalists will establish their theocracy and still claim that religious values are in danger. It’s how they radicalize more people. The fact that these survey results indicate a widespread dissatisfaction with the decline in religious values implies a potential rise in religious extremism, not a win for atheism.
Those folks are just too loud.
Christian nationalism is a slept mindvirus
The internet has dome some great things and this is one of them
Religion is a losing influence, it’s a losing believe system no matter what. I say it’s time we wake up, grow up, and admit that God was always just a fabricated concept from primitive minds that needed to believe in something bigger to simply explain away the forces of nature.
I don’t buy into the “in God we trust” concept. I don’t have to place my faith in a supernatural force. I trust in humans, every piece of advancement that’s come into being is because humans put their shoulders to the grindstone and made it happen.
I trust in humanity. I trust in our abilities to produce, manage, and help (even if we often screw it up). No god can solve our problems for us, numerous though they may be.
