Pickles said the offending account in question may have been sharing the content “out of outrage,” which would mean the account wouldn’t be permanently banned

Australian senator Helen Polley pointed to research that child sexual abuse material had gone up since Musk had bought the company. Polley questioned why child sexual abuse material wouldn’t result in an immediate ban on X since it was a crime, regardless of intent.

Yeah… Being asked to defend the pro-pedophilia position of your company may be a sign that you should quit. Or be the guy who defended pedophiles in parliament. I dunno.

“One of the challenges we see is, for example, people sharing this content out of outrage because they want to raise awareness of an issue and see something in the media,” Pickles testified

Nick Pickles is a gawd damn liar.

It’s generally understood that sharing child sex abuse materials, regardless of intent, is not only a federal crime in the U.S. and Australia, but re-victimizes the child.

Excuse my ignorance, but why wasn’t this guy arrested? And why is it “news” that X restored his account but an arrest - or even lack of one - wasn’t even mentioned?

    Nick Pickles

Unfortunate name to have when you’re trying to convince people you hate child molesters…

The FBI serves the government, not the people. Reporting things to the FBI as a citizen only works if what you are reporting aligns with the current goals of the FBI. If the government is ok with what Twitter/X is doing, the FBI doesn’t give a shit. Behold the highly effective bribery lobbying system.
