From the studio that brought you Nickelodeon Kart Racers and a bunch of marvel shovelware. Nickelodeon hates giving their IPs to good devs, apparently…

This doesn’t look very good, does it? So little elements of gameplay shown just a few months short of release, the animations don’t flow really well, the cel-shading seems to be hiding poor graphics… Besides, the ratings of Bamtang Games (the devs) are mediocre at best. It could be a good surprise, but I wouldn’t hold much hope.

It’s a shame, because there’s largely enough material in the Avatar universe to make for a great game: be it an Aang, Korra, or any other Avatar story not told in the shows or comics, or even the story of a new, unknown Avatar… Even any other bender during either Aang’s or Korra’s time could make for a great game. But that wouldn’t be on the same scale and budget as this one, of course.

I love avatar but I dont have high hopes for official video game adaptations.

Although there’s a VR earth-bending-chucking game that looks kinda promising? I haven’t played yet, just watched some trailers

Doesn’t look good enough to be a proper Avatar adaptation. Everything looks too stiff and the animations are weird. The fire effects look less like fire and more like red/orange blobs.

The backgrounds and town architecture look nice, I guess. Assuming you look at them from a distance.

I’ll wait until the reviews come out before I make a final judgment on the game, but I don’t exactly have high hopes from what I’ve seen.
