Because most devices primarily meant to connect to a PC out in the wild still use USB-A on the host side.
It’s sort of a chick and the egg situation. The real question is why everything new doesn’t use USB-C PD for power already.
Can’t wait until USB-C is the norm. It’s clearly superior.
Not really. The cable side connectors wear out way too easily.
