    This is what gets to me about those who don’t vote or describe themselves as “apolitical,” because politics is the impact of society and culture on everyday life. To be apolitical is to feel comfortable enough in everyday living to disconnect from society, most often because of the benefits of wealth and/or white supremacy.

    I’m fair and balanced. The guy with the stick looks bad in this context, but has anyone checked if the dead guy had possession charges?

    It’s not political to say “Nazis are bad” It’s not political to see people just like your friends and family gunned down the streets by cops and think there’s something wrong with the system.

    It’s fine to stay away from politics. It’s not fine to be complacent in the suffering of others.

    Being a good person shouldn’t be a political statement. Unfortunately it seems that it has become exactly that.
