I have trouble interpereting the language of the imperial ordinances, but this doesn’t look good to me, and I haven’t seen it getting as much attention as I think it probably deserves.
I’d appreciate any environmentally oriented comrade’s input about this to help me understand

Here’s a NYT article.
Trump’s New Way to Kill Regulations: Because I Say So
The president is trying new shortcuts to eliminate energy and environmental rules, but legal experts say the efforts could face high hurdles.
It’s got some very crappy and very tedious both-sides-ism but it has good stuff too.
“On its face, all of this is totally illegal,” said Jody Freeman, the director of the Harvard Law School Environmental and Energy Law Program and a former White House official under President Barack Obama. “Either the real lawyers have left the building or they just don’t care and want to take a flier on all these cases and see if the courts will bite.”

In another order, he directed a rollback of federal rules that limit the water flow in shower heads with a highly unusual legal justification: Because I say so. “Notice and comment is unnecessary because I am ordering the repeal,” Mr. Trump’s order said.
A turbolib journalist on Bluesky loves to say that an EO is - in his words - a “memo”. And there are Bluesky accounts that the same thing over-and-over like parrots. An example…
An EO is not a law.
An EO is not a law.
An EO is not a law.
An EO is not a law.
[Etc]The problem is that we are ultimately at the mercy of the 6 GOP SCOTUS justices. An EO shouldn’t be a law but it’s up to them what happens. That’s why Freeman said “on its face”. With Trump’s election win - we entered uncharted waters.
Also - eventually Trump will use a power the GOP justices already gave him in their immunity ruling last year. Trump can say “Such-and-such is an official act” when it comes to national security or whatever - and he can do it. It’s insane. It’s surely only a matter of time before Trump uses that power.
When it comes to Trump’s power - I’m certain the justices will issue one awful (if not horrorific) ruling after another. Plus - the chickens could come home to roost for the GOP justices. If they aren’t loyal enough for Trump’s liking and he gets mad - he could threaten them or their loved ones with prison, torture or death. And - abracadabra - they’ll pull a ruling out of their ass and do what he wants.
What’s amazing is that the US has managed to manifest their propaganda about DPRK. The fantasy Kim Jong Un is just Trump…
