Agreed, though also does need to be scaled with the time you are comparing to’s essentials as well. IE land line phones were essential before we reached a point where cellphones are allowed to be used for similar services. But yeah fully agreed in modern times… Essential living cost should be

“Food”

“Rent/Housing”

“Utilities” (IE power/water/Sewage etc…)

“transportation”

“Internet + Celphone”.

I think a further thing to point out in this math… is we’d also need to take into account average transportation and food expenses. Because while I’m not smart enough to do the math to calculate it out. On top of say housing relative to income doubling. Prices of necessities also need to be calculated out. If housing costs scaled with wages, but food cost doubled wages, that would still be a large factor on buying power.

Less for tracking watched statuses… and more for say using kodi with addons like thecrew and similar that stream shows from torrents etc… that currently allow you to have a page that is a list of shows/movies on your trakt tv, and you can select from there to watch them.

Marking things as watched is pretty far down on the list of features I care about. Having the addons put new episodes up and have a quick list of my shows rather than having to search them on my firestick using the god awful remote to type in the names and search for them… and actually having it syncronized on my network, would be the main feature I’d like to use anything else for.

Unfortunately I’d guess the first and foremost part of that is, it will need to start with the addons actually adding support for something other than trakt to do that.

I really wish the kodi addons would start working with overseer/jellyseer or something similar, it seems to me the tech is there.

and, besides that… creativity? so you can make art, that will serve as training data for the AIs that will be taking all the creativity jobs.

I mean yeah in a world where UBI is a thing, where food, clothing and basic shelter are a given, working is an extra if you want to live a fancier life… the idea of AI/machinery taking the majority of the jobs and most people just moving to creative pursuits and passion projects is the utopia concept.

Honestly I think engagementwise if anything I see improvement over reddit. Less people, but also less competition so. I’d say on the whole my comments get 3x more replies and notices than reddit.

I guess I do suck linux dick, but can’t really see what you can say that would get comment stalked. I’ve never seen someone reply on a non linux based post and get a reply like “oh but 3 weeks ago you said you were using win 11, so your input on world hunger is meaningless”.

Which is actually valid, pushing up the chain can get you stuff. So many people just hang on to the minimum wage grunt and expect that to accomplish anything besides making both their days worse.

I honestly do wonder where the average person thinks the customer service workers have some kind of stake in the company or something. Getting fired from a job like that is only a minor inconvenience, and the odds of their complaint being anywhere near a firable offense is usually laughable (and half the time the opposite as usually it’s wanting the employee to break store policy).

Desperate people are the ones that are afraid of gangs shooting them so they don’t have the years to sit at the camps waiting for a confirmation that their visa’s are out. The people with millions to spare on getting into the US, are the ones who have been exploiting the hell out of their people.

I mean that’s kind of the significant problem… before it was basically stretched to the max, running in a way where an eventual problem was inevitable. Attempting to fix something that was unsustainably hanging by a thread by… thinning the thread created the insane powderkeg we have now though.
