this is just from recollection, but Che mentions homophobia in his youth (I think in Motorcycle Diaries?) but there’s no evidence for it later in his life. there are multiple fabricated smears, one that BE mentions is the claim that Che had Ginsberg thrown out of Cuba— when you examine the dates on this, it turns out Che was on a diplomatic tour and never in Cuba at the same time as Ginsberg.
