• I expected and saw coming many developments but not this one. The reindustrialization of Russia is a surprise for me.

    I wish we could get a breakdown of the sectors so that we can have an idea how much of this is due to the war effort versus local production of consumer goods due to the sanctions.

      It may be that we are just so used to the traitorous compradors and decaying imperialism everywhere that any industrialisation in capitalist country, even a military focused one, is seen as unexpected.

      • The war in Ukraine changed a lot of things at once. What Lenin once described as decades happening in weeks. I personally think that it took both the war and the sanctions to reindustralize Russia, but once the war is over, will Russia still be as industrialized? I think the sanctions will force Russia to maintain local production of many things it can’t import anymore, for everything else they will probably import from China and others.
