I suppose the caveat with health insurance applies here, no? I am not diabetic, but my exposure to diabetes via my uninsured grandmother and my uninsured ex wife is insulin injections via needles, finger sticks, etc. no fancy monitors or pumps.

In the US the cost would be $200-400 a month on average without insurance.
There are no open source alternatives, and the couple of options for DIY looping still use expensive “commodity off-the-shelf” approved CGMs and pumps.
This feels weird with Trump’s surgeon general nominee owning a business that produces CGMs
